We are truly spoilt for choice in Truro, which has a diverse mix of independent and national stores. As Valentine’s day fast approaches, we may need some help on where to find that perfect gift.
As I walk through the streets of Truro, I first approach Inhabit, which has a marvelous welcoming heart decorated shop window looking out into Green Street. I browse in wonder and am struck by the owl sock pockets ‘love birds’ which are so original, however I am also drawn to the fabulous range of purses, wallets and traditional satchels.
Lorelei, a divine card shop has an incredible range of Valentine day themed wrapping paper and the essential card. Pure Silver Design’s front of shop has a smattering of hearts and a piece of jewellery can be such a special gift. Other traditional Valentine gifts could come from Lush or the Bodyshop, bubbles – fragrant cream and pampering. Or simply heart shaped chocolates from Thorntons or Pennyworths! The Cornish Food Box, along with Halzephron do splendid taylor made food hampers – always a good way to someones heart!
Emma’s Home has a rich selection of items for sale, stocked with Kath Kidson essential bags and matching accessories. I am delighted to see the large photo frames, where I can imagine placing my family pictures in. The scarves and trinkets are thoughtful and would make for a perfect Valentine’s gift (even if you have to buy it for yourself!). Valentine’s Day is to remember to tell someone how much you love them. However, I feel you should do this every day, as life is too short. Have a look at Rosewood – The Truro Florist, I am sure they will put something special together for you!
Oh, and of course, don’t forget that romantic dinner; Wig&Pen have a special Valentine’s menu, as does The Falmouth Bay Seafood Café and many more. Hurry – or else Saturday the 14th of February will all be booked!
