It’s almost that time of year again. Truro’s annual sports and activities festival ‘Be Active Truro’ is on the horizon and we’re busy busy getting everything organised!
This years festival is going to be bigger and better than ever, six days crammed full of demos, workshops and taster sessions. There will be a huge range activities on offer from high energy team sports, to dancing, to the more relaxed (but no-less exerting) golf and boules! Visit Truro (Truro’s Tourist Information Centre) and AbsoluTours have teamed up to create a fascinating new weekly guided tour of the city. Viv Robinson the woman behind AbsoluTours is Blue Badge Guide qualified with 16 years experience as a professional tour guide, and has worked with a wide range of clients to provide sightseeing and panoramic tours, walks and talks all over the UK. Viv is bringing her expertise and experience to Truro to give you an unrivaled experience of Cornwall’s Capital.
You’ll have the chance to uncover Truro’s most obscure landmarks, discover the layout of its hidden streets and hear the untold stories that will leave you gasping in disbelief! Learn the secret history of Market Hall, ‘Squeeze Guts Alley’, the ‘Tardis’ House, Lemon Quay, PS Compton Castle, Mansion House and many more of Truro’s well-known (and lesser known) monuments.
This Secret Tour will set off every Wednesday from the Tourist Information Centre on Boscawen Street at 10:45am lasting approximately 1 hour. Finishing just in time for lunch, and you’re in luck because Truro has a magnificent range of eateries to choose from.
Booking is essential via the Truro Tourist Information Centre, and please note that there must be a minimum of 4 participants. Ticket cost £6 for adults, £3.50 for 12-16 years and free for U12s.
